Stensjö
Stensjö is a copper- and gold-focused project in the Faxälven district, featuring historical copper mining, older geophysical indications, and a highly significant till anomaly for gold.
Project focus
Validation of high gold anomaly in till
Testing whether the anomaly reflects a relevant underlying mineralised target.Follow-up of historical copper mineralisation
Clarifying the connection between historical mining, older electrical surveys, and today's exploration model.Basis for modern geophysics
Prioritising targets that can be further investigated at depth.
Stensjö is based on a historical mining environment where minor copper mining was carried out during the 20th century. According to historical records, material from the area was shipped to the Rönnskär smelter. The mineralisation was also investigated using electrical measurements in the 1930s, which indicated complex parallel conductors.
The area coincides with a very high till anomaly for gold, which provides the project with a clear foundation for further technical evaluation. Crustal's initial work is focused on validating the till anomalies and subsequently assessing whether modern geophysical methods can be used to investigate any signatures with exploration potential at depth.
