The Faxälven district comprises Crustal's projects Edsele, Stensjö and Gässjö in Västernorrland County. The projects are at an early stage in the company's portfolio and are being evaluated with a focus on gold, copper and other metals.
Geologically, exploration interest in the district is based on several types of indications rather than a single defined deposit system. In Edsele, the focus is linked to historically high gold grades within a former quartz quarry and a deformation zone where previous sampling has shown gold and arsenopyrite. In Stensjö, there is historical copper mining and older geophysical surveys that have indicated parallel conductive zones. Gässjö is part of the same regional working area and is being evaluated together with the other targets in the district.
Crustal's exploration model in Faxälven is based on validating historical indications and linking them to structural, geochemical and geophysical signals in the field. The work primarily involves determining which targets have strong enough technical support to be developed further through more detailed mapping, sampling, ground geophysics and follow-up analyses.
